What do I love?

Well, apart from being a girl my 'raison d'etre' is music.

I have a music degree (BSc Hons if you must know) and am a classically trained clarinetist, although I now work as a broker (don't ask!!).

I spend a lot of my spare time in my home studio writing and recording songs - I must add that it is nothing special, for those who know their stuff I have a Tascam 488 8-track, a Korg X3, a boss SE-50 stereo effects processor, a collection of guitars, a saxophone, and of course my clarinets.

Enough of the technical rubbish, what you really want to know (or maybe you don't) is what my stuff is like, well, if I tell you that my influences are Brian Wilson (the Beach Boys), the Beatles, Queen, Andrew Gold and Frank Zappa you'll get the picture -rather an ecclectic bunch, but some awe inspiring tunes.

Just in case you haven't had the opportunity, I urge you to listen to Pet Sounds (the Beach Boys) - this is surely the most refined album of all time. Naturally I am biased, very biased and these are just subjective views (no objectivity here thanks!) so you may well totally disagree - however, just give it a listen, see what it does for you.

Why music? -

well for a start why not? - if you can tell me of anything else that can totally intoxicate, leave you happy, sad, excited, moved, and every other emotion that you could mention then you must be a very fulfilled individual indeed!!

I am working on another site that I hope to put some of my tunes on - stay tuned for a link (knowing me it might take a month or three). Alternatively drop me a mail and I'll send you a CD (totally free - now there's an offer for you).

I shall close this little section with a couple of great quotes, the first from Pierre Boulez -

"Music has evolved over the centuries, providing for each age a typical sound profile that is continuously renewed - slowly perhaps, but inevitably" (1977).

The second is from George Martin (the Beatles Producer) -

"If there is one person that I have to select as a living genius of pop music, I would choose Brian Wilson. Without Pet Sounds, Sgt. Pepper wouldn't have happened... Pepper was an attempt to equal Pet Sounds." (1996).

Thirdly, Paul McCartney -

"It was Pet Sounds that blew me out of the water. I love the album so much. I've just bought my kids each a copy of it for their education in life ... I figure no one is educated musically 'til they've heard that album ... I love the orchestra, the arrangements ... it may be going overboard to say it's the classic of the century ... but to me, it certainly is a total, classic record that is unbeatable in many ways ... I've often played Pet Sounds and cried".

And the last word from Brian Wilson -

"I'm not a genius. I'm just a hard working guy" (1966)

Agree? disagree? - let me know
